Alphonso Mango Storage 101: How to Keep Your Hapus Fresh for Weeks

When you receive a premium box of Pure Aam mangoes, the way you store them determines the final flavour and aroma. Because our mangoes are picked 'A-Grade' and shipped naturally, they continue to develop sugar and aroma even after they reach your home.
The Golden Rule: Never Refrigerate Unripe Mangoes
Alphonso mangoes are tropical fruits. Placing an unripe (greenish or firm) mango in the fridge stops the ripening process and 'chills' the flavour, which can never be recovered. Keep them at room temperature until they are fully ripe.
How to Ripen at Home
Keep your mangoes in the original Pure Aam box or wrap them in a dry newspaper. Store them in a dark, cool corner of your kitchen. Check them daily — once they become soft to the touch and emit a powerful fragrance, they are ready.
When to Refrigerate
Only refrigerate your mangoes once they are fully ripe. Cold storage can extend the life of a ripe Alphonso by 3–5 days without losing the buttery texture. For the best experience, take them out 30 minutes before eating to let the aroma wake up.
